Hand Made Ebony and Hand Etched Earrings from the Tuareg tribe, Nomads of the Sahara.
Made from a traditional Toureg Melange of Copper, Bronze and Silver and individual pieces of Hand Crafted Ebony.
Please note, the Ebony are individual pieces and differ in shade.
Tradditional engraving from the Berber people, the Tuareg/Touareg tribe.
Collected in the Sahara desert in West Africa where it was made and traded.
Tuareg artisans are nomads of the Sahara desert who use old and simple tools, using traditional tribal techniques and classic designs. Also called “Touareg Tribe” or the “Blue people” as they wear beautiful indigo fabric’s and it can be seen in their leather work. Women inherit their mother’s jewelry, and when a woman marries, her husband gives her gifts of bracelets, rings and necklaces.
Etchings and lines inscribed on pieces can represent a journey and the desert, sand dunes , a river. Also crosses are directional and represent the four corners of the desert.
Unusual gift for someone and each piece is individually made.
They are in very good condition.
Personally purchased in the Sahara from a Tuareg Tribesman.
